Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Our Church Home

Grace Lutheran Church held its first worship service on January 20, 1952 in the old City Hall Auditorium on the corner of Main and Pecan Streets, and has been sharing the good news of God's love in Jesus Christ ever since.

We are a local congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  To learn more about the mission and ministry of Grace Lutheran Church, we invite you to visit our website.

Our mission is to bring the hope of Christ to our community.  We invite you to join with us in serving our neighbors in Christian love.

We worship on Sunday mornings at 8:30am (a traditional service) and 11:00am (a contemporary service).  Kids' Power Hour is Sunday mornings at 9:45am.

Our History

In 1975, Grace Lutheran Church began a Mother's Day Out program.  Our "Christian Day School" began in 1982 with 25 students led by our first Principal, Ms. Ruby St. Martin. As we grew in our commitment to early childhood education, we changed our Mother's Day Out to an early childhood education program named GLEE (Grace Lutheran Early Education).

In 1992 the congregation purchased 5.5 acres of land adjacent to the church property, along with a 19,000 square foot medical building, which was converted for use as an Elementary School.  The school added 7th and 8th grades in 2005. Sadly the school was closed at the end of the 2015-2016 school year. We have made many wonderful memories over the years, but we now are fortunate enough to partner with Newman International Academy. They currently occupy our school building with K-5th grade. Our Preschool remains open and continues to serve our community.

For over forty years, Grace Lutheran School has been inspiring young minds to grow and achieve as a way of honoring Christ.  We invite you to join the adventure!
